Product image zoom dialog: video thumbnail button has no accessible name, image thumbnails use generic alt text
Deepak Singh Rana
What is the shop or customer experiencing?
- In the "See larger" product image dialog, the video thumbnail button is missing an accessible name. Furthermore, image thumbnails use generic alt text (e.g., "Product thumbnail #0", "#2") which skips the unnamed video thumbnail, and all main images share the exact same alt text (the product name), making it difficult for screen readers to distinguish between them.
What is the expected behavior?
- Each thumbnail in the strip should have a distinct, meaningful accessible name.
What error messages are there?
- No error messages are reported; this is a frontend accessibility (HTML attribute) issue.
Replication steps:
- Open a product page that has a video (e.g., 5 YEAR FLANNEL - SAN DIEGO on timelessthreadswestwind.com)
- Click "See larger"
- Inspect the thumbnail strip. Expected: each thumbnail has a meaningful name. Actual: the video thumbnail button has no name; image thumbs read "Product thumbnail #N"
